Ellen DeGeneres lists UK farmhouse

Celebrity couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have put their sprawling UK farmhouse on the market for US$30 million (AUD$45 million) just one year after purchasing the property.

The former talk show host and her wife purchased the 43-acre estate, known as “Kitesbridge Farm,” in the upscale Cotswolds area for approximately US$20 million last spring.

The listing comes shortly after DeGeneres confirmed the couple had permanently relocated to the United Kingdom following the 2024 US presidential election.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the couple has already moved to another nearby property that better accommodates their animals, particularly de Rossi’s horses.

“When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres told the WSJ.

“We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”

The luxury property being sold features seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms in the main residence, along with numerous high-end amenities.

The estate includes a two-bedroom guest cottage with its own kitchen and sitting room, providing ample space for visitors.

Sotheby’s International Realty, which is handling the listing, highlights several exceptional features of the property, including a heated five-car garage with its own kitchenette.

The estate also boasts a “party barn” complete with a bar, a heated indoor swimming pool, and a gym.

Outdoor amenities include a kitchen garden and multiple outdoor living areas spread across the extensive grounds.

The property even comes with its own helicopter shed, offering convenient transportation options for the wealthy buyer.

The Cotswolds has become increasingly popular among Hollywood celebrities seeking privacy and the charm of the English countryside.

DeGeneres and de Rossi initially planned a temporary stay in the UK but decided to make it permanent following the November election results.

During a recent appearance in Cheltenham, DeGeneres explained their decision to remain in England.

“We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in,'” she said.

“And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here.'”

Their decision to relocate to another property nearby suggests they intend to remain in the Cotswolds region for the foreseeable future.
