Aaron Paul’s Los Feliz home hits market for $9.95 million

Actor Aaron Paul is selling his century-old Los Feliz home in Los Angeles, for US$9.95 million (AUD$15.3 million).

The “Breaking Bad” star listed the 1922 Spanish-style residence, known as the Seyler House, after purchasing it in 2019 for US$6.95 million according to Mansion Global.

The three-bedroom home spans 4,000 square feet and sits on a sprawling 1.5-acre terraced lot near Griffith Park.

Built by Stiles O. Clements, the architect behind Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre, it was one of the first homes constructed in the Los Feliz neighborhood.

The property features distinctive Spanish Colonial Revival architecture with white stucco walls, a red-tile roof, and ivy-draped exterior.

Inside, the home showcases original details including stained-glass windows, a black-and-white tiled foyer, terracotta accents, and exposed wood-beam ceilings.

Paul and his family worked with L.A.-based Commune Design to update the interiors while preserving the home’s historic elements.

The property includes an eat-in kitchen, media room, and multiple patios for outdoor entertaining.

The expansive grounds are particularly notable, featuring mature gardens that have been developing for over a century.

The outdoor space includes hidden trails, a stone bench, grottoed pool with cold plunge, koi pond, and an amphitheater nestled among the overgrowth.

The property has housed numerous celebrities throughout its history.

Before Paul purchased it from “Big Bang Theory” actor Jim Parsons, previous famous residents included actors Tim Curry, Robert Pattinson, and Noah Wyle, as well as Oscar-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson.

Curry, who owned the house in the 1990s, shared an interesting anecdote about acquiring the property with Architectural Digest in 1998.

He made an immediate offer upon seeing the overgrown gardens and classic architecture, only to experience anxiety when learning there was a previous offer.

The home is currently listed with Jenna Cooper of Compass, who brought it to market in late July.
