Boxes are starting to appear near the front desks.
A trickle of donations is turning into a cascade, non-perishable items like tins of food, children’s gifts, toothbrushes, hygiene products, insect repellent, Christmas treats…
This year, that spirit of generosity carries an even deeper meaning as Harcourts Australia joins forces with six extraordinary charities, each one standing at the heart of its community.
In Queensland, volunteers at Nourish Street Inc. are serving warm meals under open skies, reminding people living rough that they are seen and valued.
In New South Wales, laughter rises from the kitchen at Our Big Kitchen, where strangers chop vegetables side by side, cooking meals that will comfort thousands.
In Victoria, The Big Umbrella continues its tradition of meeting people where they are — with hot meals, open arms, and no judgement.
In Tasmania, Launceston City Mission, with more than a century of care behind them, supports families searching for stability and hope.
Across SA and NT, Foodbank quietly fills shelves and hampers for parents who might otherwise go without.
And in WA, The Pantry welcomes families with dignity, choice, and the belief that everyone deserves enough.
Pauline Smith, who heads up the Harcourts Foundation, puts it perfectly: “This Christmas, we’re not just giving donations – we’re giving hope. When our team, network, and community come together like this, every single contribution becomes part of something much bigger. It’s a reminder that we’re all in this together.”
“Our hope is that no one feels alone this Christmas. These charities do extraordinary work, and we’re honoured to support their missions.”
The charities agree.
“Christmas can be a painful time when you’re struggling,” shared a Launceston City Mission spokesperson. “A donated meal or gift may seem small, but it can change a whole day for someone.”
Adrian Knowles, CEO Harcourts Australia, gets excited talking about these partnerships.
“Working alongside these amazing charities has taught us so much about what real community impact looks like. When we support their work, we’re not just helping those in need – we’re strengthening the fabric of our communities and showing our kids what it means to care for others.”
The donation drive is now underway nationally. From food to hygiene products to wrapped gifts for children, every item donated will find its way into the hands of someone who truly needs it.
This year, Harcourts is calling on Australians to help fill the boxes, and, in doing so, help fill hearts across the country.
Because Christmas isn’t just a day. It’s a chance to lift each other up.
