The Barry Plant Group Inspires with Kick Start 2014

Barry Plant’s Annual Conference – Kick Start 2014 – was a resounding success, attended by more than 500 delegates from across the Barry Plant network.

The event provided delegates with the fresh ideas, knowledge and inspiration to motivate them for the year ahead.

Held at the Melbourne Convention Centre recently, Kick Start 2014 saw Barry Plant representatives from across the 80 office network come together to hear presentations from sales and property management experts, Barry Plant high achievers, as well as motivational speakers Alisa Camplin and Sebastian Terry.

Alisa Camplin kicked the day off in spectacular fashion, sharing with delegates her triumph over adversity, leading to a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics, despite competing with two broken ankles!

With the program covering all aspects of the business from property management and sales, to financial services, the delegates enjoyed an information-packed day. Sales consultants were treated to two highly practical sessions by Phil Harris while Property Managers head from Cindy Tate and Barry Plant’s own property management star, Cathie McCrae.

The final speaker for the day was Sebastian Terry, author of the book 100 Things. What’s on your list? In Sebastian’s thought provoking presentation he recounts his decision to embark on achieving the 100 things he’d always wanted to achieve in his life.

Director and CEO Mike McCartney said that the conference, now in its ninth year, continues to be an excellent way to inspire the whole network for the year ahead.

“The theme for this year’s conference was Beyond Excellence. Excellence is no longer enough to be the best – we need to go beyond excellence if we are to continue to maintain our position of pre-eminence in the real estate industry.

“I hope that Kick Start 2014 gave all of our delegates the inspiration to take their business to an even higher level in the coming year,” Mike said.

The Barry Plant Group experienced significant growth in 2013, outperforming the market by more than 130 per cent, and selling more than 10,000 properties.

At the same time, the group’s Property Management portfolio continued to grow at an impressive rate, with the Barry Plant Group being awarded The Property Management Company of the Year at the inaugural Australian Real Estate Industry Awards.

“As good as our results are; the exciting opportunity that exists is that they could be even better! I look forward to seeing what the Barry Plant Group can achieve going forward in 2014,” said Mike.
