We Are Real Estate

Stuart Legg: ‘Ruff’ day at the office

Real estate is a diverse industry – RE/MAX Regency agent Stuart Legg can attest to that. Sometimes you get to see the best side of human nature, and sometimes you’re left with a person’s dog

On getting into real estate
Real estate was my only option at the time. I am glad it was, looking back!

The happiest moment in my career
Awards and recognition are great, but when a lovely family purchases a home from another great family, we get to witness the best side of human nature and that is so refreshing in today’s world.

The most memorable moment
One where the owner left all his old furniture and his dog behind and did a complete runner!

Best advice he’s received
Not sure if I received this or worked it out myself, but just be yourself and find what works for you.

Biggest challenge
Legislation. I think the government and powers that be have the ability to drastically change what we do. This has really become apparent to me since the Banking Royal Commission. Disruptors will come and go, sure, but it is down to conventional agents to stay ahead of the game.

Change for good?
I think agents should need to meet more stringent minimum requirements before being allowed to operate.

‘Elite’ agent means
To me it is an agent who operates with outstanding results and unwavering integrity over an extended period of time.

#WeAreRealEstate is a series of short interviews with 140 agents all over Australia exploring the industry’s hopes, concerns, future challenges, and what it really means to be an Elite Agent.
