SA and NSW red hot for sellers say realestate.com.au

South Australia has maintained a high level of demand from buyers and continues to be the hottest state in Australia for potential vendors, according to data released today by realestate.com.aui.

Demand for property in New South Wales has soared, with the Top Sellers’ Market information revealing that four of the top ten suburbs for sellers’ are based in the harbour state– an increase from last quarter when it claimed just two of the top teni.

realestate.com.au’s latest Top Sellers’ Markets data shows the following ten Australian suburbs have the most people looking per listing:

  1. Parkside (SA)
  2. Norwood (SA)
  3. Mitcham (SA)
  4. Freshwater (NSW)
  5. Thornleigh (NSW)
  6. St Peters (SA)
  7. Burnside (SA)
  8. Manly Vale (NSW)
  9. Cherrybrook (NSW)
  10. Stafford Heights (QLD)

The South Australian suburb of Parkside has maintained the top position for the last three quarters, while the NSW suburb of Freshwater has seen a slight drop in demand, moving down the list from second to fourth positioni.

There are seven newcomers to the national top ten sellers’ list this quarter- Mitcham, Thornleigh, St Peters, Burnside, Manly Vale, Cherrybrook and Stafford Heights – while Norwood has re-entered the list in second place, after dropping off last quarteri.

Cynthia Sajkunovic from LJ Hooker Unley says that the demand for property in leafy Parkside and more widely in South Australia has been growing over the last 10 years.

“We can see that the buyer market in South Australia is growing. Buyer confidence is up and interstate buyers in particular recognise that property in Adelaide is very affordable and offers fantastic value for money. It’s a great time for sellers – buyers should aim to get into the market quickly as the property prices will increase with rising demand,” she said.

Arthur Charlaftis, General Manager of Sales and Operations at realestate.com.au says that the Top Sellers’ Markets indicates strong buyer interest and that a high ranking in the list is usually indicative of increased buyer activity in following months. He highlights the importance of buyers educating themselves and utilising the tools available on realestate.com.au as part of their suburb research.
