The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has launched its ‘Choose a Member’ campaign to raise awareness of a new agent search tool.
REIV President Robyn Waters said it has never been more important for property owners to thoroughly research potential candidates when selecting the right person to sell, lease or manage their property.
‘Choose a Member’ searches can be tailored to suit specific client needs.
For example, if a user is looking for an agency with experience selling three-bedroom houses in a specific location, the tool will provide results for member agencies in the area that have sold this type of property in the past 12 months.
It will provide the number of sales, date of most recent result, a link to the agency profile, and link to their recent results.
Ms Waters said the tool was developed to give real estate professionals with a demonstrated history of reliability the best platform to be found by users.
The industry body claims around 80 per cent of Victorian agencies are REIV members.
“When you choose an REIV Member, you choose a professional who has completed the required training, is committed to ongoing professional development, is covered by professional indemnity insurance, and is required to follow REIV guidelines to always act ethically, honestly and fairly.”
