Ray White's Malek Younan named Top Agent in Australia by SQM

CONGRATULATIONS go to Malek Younan of Ray White Gladstone Park who has just been named as the top residential agent in Australia by SQM Research.

The inaugural list of Australia’s Top 100 Residential Real Estate Agents in 2018 was just released by SQM Research, with Malek Younan of Ray White Gladstone Park in Melbourne leading the list out of 53,650 residential property real estate agents.

Twelve Ray White agents were also in the Top 100 list including leading agents Ercan Erscan (#5) and Shaun Stoker (#7), both directors at Ray White Erskineville | Alexandria and Surry Hills in Sydney.

The ranking of 53,650 residential property real estate agents include all agents who had their name published on a property sales advertisement in 2018.

The final ranking was based on an even weighting of five different measurements of agent performance including agent’s listing market share, number of sales, sales conversion rates, total dollar value sold and days on market.

Mr Younan said he was blown away by being named as the top residential agent in Australia.

“I am thrilled to be named as the top agent in Australia on this inaugural list by SQM Research. I have been in real estate for 16 years and my mantra is to stay up to date with technology and the market but always have face to face conversations, human to human – that is the key,” Mr Younan said.

“I always try to under-promise but over-deliver for my clients. I am driven by the desire to always be ethical and I treat my clients like my family.”

Ray White Group Chairman Brian White congratulated all of the agents on the list.

“This is not a list that any agent can apply to be considered in, it was devised by an independent research house to give consumers a picture of who is doing well in their area,” he said.

SQM Research Managing Director Louis Christopher said Malek Younan had achieved extraordinarily well across all the measures to achieve the number one spot.

“For any agent to rank in the top 1000 you most certainly would be considered a very high performing agent. So to make it in the top 100 is an extraordinary achievement,” Mr Christopher said.

“This Top 100 list was created to focus on vendors’ needs and is more about how quickly agents can sell properties, as well as their relative market share.

“Ultimately, home sellers are looking for agents who can sell their properties quickly, as close as possible to their asking price, in an honest and transparent fashion. So, we have included in our list the average time taken for an agent to sell a property.”

The average days on market for the Top 100 agents was 35 days. Their average sales conversion rate was 73.4 per cent while the average number of sales was 63. The average dollar value of an agent’s combined sales was $59.1M.
