Property disruptor Soho launches ‘News Feed’ feature

Property disruptor Soho has launched a ‘News Feed’ feature for its app in an attempt to help buyers and sellers find their dream home.

Similar to existing social networking platforms, users will be able to track trending topics through hashtags, connect to industry experts, and watch videos from industry figures.

Since the platform launched in 2017 it has garnered over 10,000 downloads on Google’s app store ‘Google Play’.

Soho also has plans to introduce video and live-streaming services. The company says it will allow property seekers to watch live property walkthroughs as well as live auctions being streamed by real estate agents.

Soho founder Jonathan Lui believes video is the future of the digital content era and the key way that people create and consume content online today.

“Soho will be leading this charge in the real estate industry by not only allowing videos on property listings to be easily showcased, but by creating a whole new channel to stream content live and direct to an audience of property seekers and real estate enthusiasts via news feeds and live auctions.”

According to Mr Lui, who also co-founded Airtasker, Soho aims to shake things up in the real estate game.

“Before buying or renting a home it’s critical to research everything about an area and speak to experts operating in those areas, especially when buying your first home and taking on a costly mortgage,” Mr Lui said.

“Soho’s social network makes this easy by allowing you to not only find properties for sale or rent but to discover market trends in real time, and connect with a community who can help you in your decision-making process, whether they’re agents, finance professionals or other property seekers and investors.”
