Listing of the week: Pretty in Pink

The impossibly pastel pink hued Main Beach Bungalow – modelled after the Beverly Hills Hotel – is on the market for the first time since it was redesigned two years ago.

The resort style estate, hidden from view behind a pink fence and well established gardens, is located in the heart of the Glitter Strip at 46-48 Peak Ave, Main Beach. The cabana and pool has played host to many magazine, catalogue and social media influencers’ photoshoots.

The five-bedroom home, which is only one of three double blocks in Main Beach on 1062sqm, is for sale through top agent Jackson Paradise of Ray White Surfers Paradise. He’s expecting huge crowds of would-be buyers given its iconic style and features.

Owners Mike and Dayna Willems bought the property in late 2017 and set about transforming it with inspiration drawn from The Beverly Hills Hotel – one of their favourite holiday destinations.

“People thought I was crazy when I said I wanted to paint it pink but everyone is drawn to it now,” says Dayna Willems of her fabulous resort-style home.

Mike, who works at Ray White Surfers Paradise and is the top commercial agent at Ray White internationally, was adamant to make it clear the family is not leaving Main Beach.

“We have bought on the beachfront at Main Beach which we consider to be the premier suburb on the Gold Coast. So we are very serious about selling as we have committed ourselves elsewhere.”

The family of five, that includes 19-year-old Jackson, 15-year-old Emerson and five-year-old Lulu, built two structures that are joined but each can be locked off separately if required.

The boys have occupied their own three level building which has its own lounge room, kitchen and laundry, while Mike, Dayna and Lulu live in the main house.

“When we moved we built the extension and we painted it pink but the resort-style lagoon was always there with the 25m lap-pool, which was what we fell in love with first. It’s also very private here because of the established gardens,” Mrs Willems said.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we are selling as the house was a passion project but the time is right and we want to travel more.

“We are selling a lifestyle as it’s like buying your own private oasis. It’s perfect for families with kids of any age.

“My husband and I have both spent time at The Beverly Hills Hotel over the years so I decided that I didn’t want another white house when we moved in, and had it painted pink.

“We went to the hotel with colour swatches to match and I sourced the Martinique wallpaper and fabrics and went about theming it.”

Mrs Willems has had a lot of interest and requests for photo shoots “as it appears everyone wants a pink backdrop”.

The stunning house has ample parking for five cars, plus storage. The house is in a great location, a short walk to the beach and the cafés of Tedder Avenue. The gourmet kitchen has a butler’s pantry, plus a breakfast and dining bar.

The property goes to auction March 14, 2020 at 11am unless sold prior.
