LJ Hooker Starts 2015 on the Back of Best Ever Month

LJ Hooker notched a 61% year on year increase in unconditional sales throughout December, setting a new best ever month for the leading real estate network.

The stellar close to the year managed to eclipse the previous monthly record for unconditional sales by eight per cent (March 2013) and was 15% higher in settlements compared to December 2013 – another new record.

LJ Hooker Chief Operations Officer Paul O’Regan said as the network broke new territory, it was addressing the challenge of limited stock.

“There was an over-riding sentiment from buyers to make their move before Christmas,’’ said Mr O’Regan.

“Most capital city markets showed unprecedented strength in the latter stages of 2014, as experts speculated rates will stay stable for much of 2015, or even drop.

“Our auction campaigns worked very successfully, and the days on market of properties listed through private treaty reduced, in general.

“But late year buyer interest has lessened the amount of stock on the market for the start of 2015. That has created a challenge for LJ Hooker to build a pipeline of listings that can cater to the market appetite that shows no sign of abating.’’

Through the first quarter of 2015, the network is offering home owners and landlords who have an appraisal with LJ hooker the chance of winning five prizes of One Million Qantas points.

Mr O’Regan said the incentive had already triggered much interest.

“Many people eye off the New Year as the first step in their property plan. The offer of a Million Qantas Points really is a great enticement and a great tool for agents and property managers to use to engage with their marketplace,’’ said Mr O’Regan. “The Qantas Points literally open up the world to our clients.’’
