There are worse issues to have than owning too many luxury Los Angeles homes, but it’s a problem John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are currently dealing with.
As a result, the superstar couple have dropped the asking price on this sprawling mansion, at 9152 Janice Pl, Beverly Hills, by more than $7 million.
The bad news is the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion – which used to belong to Rihanna – will still set you back $23.1 million.
According to Top Ten Real Estate Deals, the couple bought the contemporary-style house from the ‘Diamonds’ singer in 2016 and it’s where they lived when their two children were born.
The home has featured heavily on Teigen’s Instagram page over the past few years.
The couple settled into a new house in the same area last September, but had yet to sell their other Beverly Hills mansion.
When the couple purchased the home five years ago, they changed the colour scheme from cool to warm tones and decorated the kitchen in a manner that would make it suitable for Teigen’s cooking shows.
Originally built in 1966, the home has been decorated to the highest contemporary standards.
The entrance features 10m ceilings and a sculptural staircase, and the spacious living room has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping canyon views.
Interior materials include bespoke ceilings from Thailand, cerused oak floors, and clay and steel-rolled walls.
The chef’s kitchen, which is befitting of its foodie influencer owner, opens on to a large family room.
The master bedroom features a brass and concrete fireplace, a balcony, a glam room and newly designed closets.
The adjoining master bathroom features a marbleTeuco tub, onyx sinks and a double shower.
The back yard has a heated saltwater pool and jacuzzi, wood-burning oven, chef’s grill, and grapevine-wrapped pergola.
The estate has solar power and a 70kW generator and is only moments from the Beverly Hills Hotel and Rodeo Drive.
The property is listed with Marshall Peck of Douglas Elliman, Beverly Hills.
