The Society of Auctioneers & Appraisers has recognised the best auctioneers and appraisers in South Australia at the Domain Golden Gavel Awards.
Held in Adelaide, the night saw the organisation present awards for categories such as ‘Top Real Estate Auctioneer’ and ‘Top Principal Auction Marketer’.
Among the list of winners was Harcourts Williams sales consultant and auctioneer Hamish Mill who took home the trophy for the 2019 Domain Golden Gavel in the Senior Real Estate category.
“It is a great honour to win this prestigious award, it is a great honour for me,” Mr Mill said.
Harcourts Williams partner John Williams congratulated Mr Mill on his win, saying that he’d never met a more deserving winner.
“After years and years and years of trying and never giving up, you [Mr Mill] are an inspiration to us all… Really well done Hammer,” Mr Williams said.
Now in it’s 26th year, the Golden Gavel was created by past President Anthony Toop and is the longest running auctioneering competition in the southern hemisphere.
The awards were developed as a means to recognise excellence for auctioneers and appraisers, and to encourage young performers in the industry.
