‘Beyond the Default’

‘Defaults’—established ways of doing things—are an important element of any coordinated work. We need them. They save us time and reduce cognitive burden—we don’t need to think.

 

But these days many real estate teams have become somewhat cursed with efficiency. We’re so busy – sometimes too busy for meaningful progress – and so we seek quick fixes – “success leaves clues” – and familiar solutions that save us time, without realising we may be venturing closer toward irrelevance when it comes to tomorrow’s consumer. 

 

To remain relevant, we must know when (and how) to disrupt default thinking, so that we may pioneer new ways—beyond the default.

 

In this session, we will explore:

  • How ‘default thinking’ may be creating a ‘delusion of progress’ (and what to do about it).
  • How to cultivate the curiosity, empathy and quality thinking needed to stay relevant, particularly when we think about future-proofing our businesses.
  • How to augment existing strategy with new leadership to ensure enduring relevance in an industry that continues to rapidly change.
