South East Queensland real estate business, Coronis, has presented children’s education charity The Smith Family with 737 toys and books worth approximately $10,130 for the 2015 Toy and Book Appeal.
Managing Director Andrew Coronis said each of Coronis’ 20 offices located across Brisbane, Toowoomba, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast had been collecting presents for the past two months, which were all delivered to the Coronis Headquarters in Lutwyche yesterday to hand over to The Smith Family.
“We had an amazing response from not only the Coronis team but our clients as well,” Mr Coronis said. “We put the call out to our database and we have had buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords and some of our business partners drop toys and books into each of our offices which has been wonderful to see.
“I truly believe that giving is great for the soul and knowing that Coronis has been able to help The Smith Family and all the work they do for our community during the festive season, is something that I am very proud of.”
The Smith Family’s Queensland General Manager, Alan Le May said without the support of organisations and communities throughout Queensland they would not be able to bring joy to thousands of disadvantaged children during the festive season.
“What a fantastic contribution from Coronis and their supporters to our Toy and Book Appeal.”
This year The Smith Family will distribute more than 12,000 toy and book packs to 5500 families nationally.
The Smith Family’s 2015 Christmas fundraising appeal is also underway, which aims to raise $3.4 million to deliver critical out-of-school learning support programs for disadvantaged children next year. Donations can be made at thesmithfamily.com.au or phone 1800 024 069.
