Developer auctions brand new apartment for charity

The owners of ‘Altitude on Montville’, one of the Sunshine Coast’s most exciting new developments, are auctioning a brand new two bedroom apartment in aid of The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

The luxury apartments are being developed by Sunshine Coast locals, the Purcell family. The charity auction will donate proceeds to a cause that is close to their hearts.

“When we were living remotely and running a pub many years ago, our son Ryan had an accident and the Flying Doctors came to his rescue. This is our way of giving back to those people that helped our family so much,” Martin Purcell explained.

The marketing campaign for unit 109, 94-96 Main Street, Montville kicks off this week through Ray White Maleny, with an auction scheduled for Friday, 25 November. Selling principal, Melinda Martin, said the auction is designed to reach as many people as possible.

“We’re hosting an in-room auction at Ray White’s head office in Brisbane as well as via the Ray White Live Online Auction app so that anyone in Australia can log in, register and bid for the property,” she said.

Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) CEO, Nino Di Marco said they were humbled by the generosity of the Purcell family.

“Thank you Marty, Ali and Ryan Purcell. We are thrilled and delighted that the Purcell Family see fit to offer the profits from the sale of Apartment 109 at Altitude on Montville in support of the RFDS.

“We are touched by this show of generosity and eagerly await the outcome of the charity auction.”

‘Altitude on Montville’ is designed for the holiday crowds that flock to the Sunshine Coast every year and cater to the demand for accommodation for weddings and functions. The luxury self-contained apartments overlook an ocean and hinterland backdrop and are a short and walk to the vibrant town of Montville. The ‘Altitude’ restaurant is led by first-class and highly respected chef, Matt Golinski.

“The highest bidder on the day will be the new owner of an apartment that will provide a strong return on their investment, with the added benefit of knowing their sale will help the Flying Doctor Service continue their invaluable service to those living in rural and remote Australia,” Melinda said.

Whilst no price guide is provided, the team at Ray White and the Purcell’s both agree the higher the price, the better.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to make sure we maximise the sale price for this fantastic cause,” Melinda said.

The in-room auction will be held at Level 26, 111 Eagle Street, Brisbane on 25 November at 10.30am
